Pats trade Schacher to Saskatoon

Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats Hockey Club announced today the team has acquired an 8th Round pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for defenceman Isaac Schacher (’95).

The Pats traded for Schacher just prior to the 2014 WHL Trade Deadline last season from the Victoria Royals.  The 6’5”, 215 lbs. defender picked up two assists in 25 games patrolling the blue line for the Blue and White down the stretch and into the playoffs.  2013-14 was Schacher’s first full season in the WHL in which he totaled nine points (1G, 8A) in 60 games split between the Pats and Royals.

The Regina Pats thank Isaac for his contributions to the club and community during his time with the team and wish him the best going forward.

The move brings the Pats roster to 28 players including those away at NHL Camps.  The breakdown includes 2 goaltenders, 8 defencemen and 18 forwards.

The Pats play their first game of the 2014-15 WHL Regular Season Friday night in Brandon against the Wheat Kings.  The Blue and White return home Saturday for the A&W Home Opener on September 20th.  Tickets for the Home Opener are available through, the Brandt Centre Box Office as well as Regina A&W and Safeway locations.

HHmm…two 5th rounders for an 8th rounder!

the pats prob thought an 8th rounder was better then just reassigning him to Jr. A and getting nothing. Our defense is way deeper then Saskatoon's so we didn't have a lot of use for Schacher anymore, his size was appealing but his skill level isn't there for how we want to play
