The Regina Thunder took sole possession of first place in the PFC winning on the road in Winnipeg on Sunday afternoon. The win pushes the Thunder record to 4 and 1 and they have now won 3 in a row.

The lone points of the opening quarter came from Winnipeg by way of a field goal and the home team led 3-0 through 1.

The Thunder would get their first points of the game in the second. Jaeden Marwick completed a deep pass to Kasim Ocaya which set up a touchdown pass to Levi Paul and it was 7-0 Regina with 9 minutes left in the half. Chris Tunnicliffe the picked up his second interception in as many games and the Thunder marched to the red zone. William McGee kicked a field goal to make it 10-3. The Rifles would tie it at 10 with a touchdown inside a minute left. Marwick then led the offense down the field and McGee kicked another field goal to make it 13-10 Thunder at the half.

In the third the Rifles conceded a safety to extend the Thunder lead to 15-10. The Thunder defense then scored their first touchdown of the year as Brett Selinger scooped up a fumble and took it to the house and it was 22-10, 5 minutes into the half. Winnipeg marched down and kicked a field goal and it was 22-13. The Thunder put another major on the board with 3 minutes left in the quarter as Jaeden Marwick threw a touchdown pass to Preston Bews and it was 29-13. The Thunder went up 36-13 before the break. Marwick another TD pass, this time to Kasim Ocaya. That was the score heading to the 4th.

In the final quarter the teams traded touchdowns to round out the scoring. Taylor Garrett recorded an interception in the quarter and Regina took the 43-20 victory.

Next action for the Thunder is Sunday home to the Calgary Colts at 1 o'clock at Mosaic Stadium.
