Chiefs acquire McAndrews from Tri-City

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs announced today that they have acquired 19-year-old forward Devon McAndrews from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. McAndrews, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound left wing from Edmonton, scored 3 goals and 5 assists in 54 games with the Americans, adding 53 penalty minutes.

"With our current injury situation, we have an opportunity for Devon to come in and help us and our group of forwards," said Chiefs General Manager Tim Speltz. "Devon plays the left side and has good size which fills two needs for our team right now."

The Chiefs also announced today that they have released 18-year-old forward Spencer Meyer. Meyer appeared in three games for Spokane.

The roster moves, along with the expected reassignment of 15-year-old forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan following Friday night's game, leave Spokane's roster at 25 players, including 15 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders.

The Chiefs go on the road on Tuesday to face the Seattle Thunderbirds before returning home to host the T-Birds again on Wednesday. It will be the first of nine TicketsWest Player Magnet Giveaways at Spokane Arena, as the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a refrigerator magnet featuring a Chiefs player.
