Chiefs return Moodie to Saskatoon

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs announced today that they have returned 19-year-old goaltender Alex Moodie to the Saskatoon Blades. Moodie was acquired by the Chiefs in May for a conditional pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft. By terms of the trade agreement, the Chiefs have exercised the option to return Moodie to Saskatoon, which returns the draft selection to Spokane.
"Garret Hughson has earned the opportunity to be our starting goaltender and 17-year-old Tyson Verhelst will be our second goaltender," said Chiefs General Manager Tim Speltz. "Alex did a great job for us and did everything he was asked, proving himself to be a capable goaltender in the WHL. We would like to thank Alex for his time and wish him the best back in Saskatoon."
With the roster move, the Chiefs are now carrying 26 players, including 16 forwards, 8 defensemen and two goaltenders.
