Pats - Ice Game Day Preview

The Regina Pats (3-2-1-0) face the Kootenay Ice (2-3-0-0) for the first time this season.  Last year saw Kootenay take the season series, winning three of four meetings. Morgan Klimchuk was the top Pat versus Kootenay last season with three points (1G, 2A).  Jaedon Descheneau led the Ice last season against the Pats with seven points (5G, 2A) in four games.  The Pats ride a four game point streak into tonight’s contest after having their win streak halted 4-3 in overtime by the Rebels on Sunday.  The Ice dropped their previous game 6-4 to the Hitmen in Calgary.  This evening’s game can be heard on 620 CKRM starting at 6:35 p.m.
Enhancing Fan ExperienceThe Brandt Centre will have a different look at centre ice for tonight’s game.  In order to improve the game night experience for fans, two temporary hanging screens have been installed at centre ice to bring replays and Pats promotions closer to the fans.
Lead Up: Pats Stalled 4-3 by Rebels in OTThe Blue and White had their hands full with a testy Red Deer Rebels club on Sunday.  The visitors jumped out to an early lead, but the Pats found answers as the teams traded goals to a 3-3 tie after sixty.  Overtime saw Red Deer’s Presten Kopeck score his second of the game for the 4-3 Rebels win.  Sam Steel, Kyle Burroughs and Pavel Padakin scored for the Pats.
Zborovskiy Speaks the Right LanguageImport defenceman Sergey Zborovskiy may still be adjusting to a new country and language, but his play on the ice speaks volumes.  The Moscow, Russia native has three assists in his first six games and is a +3 plus/minus rating.  Zborovskiy had his first multi-point game against Red Deer on Sunday.
Williams Back on TrackAfter the Pats’ Opening Weekend saw Colby Williams go pointless and feature a -3 plus/minus rating, the Regina native has turned his numbers around in a big way.  Williams now leads Pats defencemen with four points (1G, 3A), is on a four game point streak and is a +6 over that span.
