Pats - Rebels Game Day Preview

Head-to-Head
The Regina Pats (3-2-0-0) face the Red Deer Rebels (2-3-0-0) for the first time this season.  Last year, the clubs split their season series with each squad winning one at home and on the road.  Connor Gay leads returning Pats with four points (1G, 3A) in three games against Red Deer.  Conner Bleackley was the top scorer in the season series with six points (2G, 4A) in four games.  Coming into tonight’s contest, the Pats are on a three game winning streak after last night’s 5-2 win over Prince Albert.  The Rebels look to get back in the win column after a 7-1 defeat at the hands of the Brandon Wheat Kings yesterday.  This evening’s game can be heard on 620 CKRM starting at 5:35 p.m.
Lead Up: Pats Take 5-2 Win over RaidersThe Pats won the 5-on-5 battle in a 5-2 win over the Raiders last night.  Braden Christoffer scored twice on the man advantage while Austin Wagner, Patrick D’Amcio and Dryden Hunt chipped in with even strength singles.  The Pats’ penalty kill came up with some key stops and finished the night 6/8for the game.  Daniel Wapple made 24 saves for his second win on the season.
Off to Hot StartWith a goal and an assist last night, Austin Wagner matched his offensive output from all 2013-14 and now has four points (1G, 3A) on the season.  His linemates are on a roll as well as Patrick D’Amico has goals in three straight and Adam Brooks has four points in his last three as well.
Burroughs Back in the LineupThe Pats’ captain returned to action after missing one game due to injury.  Burroughs finished the game a +2 in his plus/minus rating and dropped the mitts in a scrap with Raiders forward Jayden Hart.  The New York Islanders prospect is now a +3 in two games with one assist on the new season.
Early ReturnsRecent pick up Pavel Padakin hasn’t wasted any time in finding the scoresheet.  The Ukrainian forward has two assists in three games since joining the Pats.  Padakin had three points (2G, 1A) in five games against Red Deer last season.
