The Regina Thunder and Edmonton Huskies played to a 27-27 tie on Sunday afternoon. That moves Regina's record to 4-2 and 1 on the season while the Huskies are 2-4 and 1. Nick Brown made his season debut at running back in the game while Spencer Mack started at quarterback with Jaeden Marwick out with an injury. The tie drops the Thunder into second place in the PFC, a point back of the 5 and 2 Saskatoon Hilltops.

In the first quarter the Huskies would give up a safety for the lone points of the period and the Thunder led 2-0 after 1.

In the second the Huskies got on the board 24 seconds in as quarterback Trevor Erdmann ran in his first of two touchdowns and it was 7-2. The Thunder re-took the lead at 7:56 as Preston Bews caught a touchdown pass from Spencer Mack and it was 9-7. The Huskies came back with another touchdown at 11:54 as Trevor Erdmann ran in another score and they took the 14-9 lead. Then on the ensuing kickoff, Kristiane Desautels returned it 90 yards for the touchdown at 12:07 and it was 16-14 Regina. Marc LaPlante kicked a field goal for the Huskies at 14:21 and Edmonton took the 17-16 lead into halftime.

In the third the lone point came on a missed field goal single from William McGee from 38 yards out on the final play of the quarter and it was 17-17 going to the fourth.

In the final quarter the Huskies went up 20-17 with another Marc LaPlante field goal. The Thunder got even again at 14:40 as William McGee was good for the first time and the game went into overtime.

In the first overtime period both McGee and LaPlante kicked field goals and the same was true in the second OT and the game ended in a 27-27 tie.

The Thunder close out the regular season at home to the Winnipeg Rifles at Mosaic Stadium Sunday at 1 o'clock.

Here are the stats leaders from Sunday's game.

QB Spencer Mack was 9 of 20 passing for 118 yards, 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions.

WR Preston Bews caught 3 balls for 56 yards and a touchdown.

Kasim Ocaya had 2 catches for 29 yards and Thomas Bresciani caught one for 19.

RB Nick Brown played his first game of the season and he carried the ball 20 times for 98 yards. Matt Frass had 8 carries for 57 yards.

Linebacker Brandon Whitehouse put up 9 tackles and 2 sacks on the defensive side.

DB Marcus Hall had 8 tackles and one on special teams. Mason Dick with 7 tackles, Ryan Warner and Jerrett Seck with 6 while Dustin Erbach finished with 5 take downs.

The Thunder defense did not get a takeaway in the game.

On special teams kicker William McGee was 3 of 4 in the field goal department and punted 8 times for 298 yards and a long of 62.

Kristiane Desautels returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown. He also had 5 punt returns for 29 yards.
