Pats - Hurricanes Game Day Preview


The Regina Pats (4-3-0-0) look for their 4th straight win tonight in Lethbridge against the Hurricanes (4-2-0-0). The Pats are coming off a 6-2 win in Medicine Hat on Wednesday night while the Hurricanes have been off since Friday when they beat the Tigers 7-0. Tonight is the first of four meetings between the two clubs. Puck drop is at 7 o’clock with the pre-game at 6:35 on 620 CKRM.

The Lead Up
The Regina Pats got three points from Adam Brooks and Sam Steel and then 38 saves from Daniel Wapple in their 6-2 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Tuesday night. Austin Wagner, Connor Hobbs, Sergey Zborovskiy and Brady Pouteau scored the other goals in the win which was the Pats 4th in a row.

The Hurricanes have enjoyed 4 days off since they beat the Medicine Hat Tigers 7-0 last Friday. Brayden Burke led the team with 4 assists while goaltender Jayden Sittler stopped all 23 shots he faced for the shutout.

Brooks Finds Offensive Touch
Pats forward Adam Brooks has exploded offensively in his last three games. The 19-year-old was kept pointless in his first four games of the year but in the Pats last three wins he has scored 4 times and has 9 points which leads the team.


PP and PK Excelling
The Pats powerplay has gone off for 5 goals on 10 advantages in their last two games. Meanwhile the penalty kill has gone 9 for 11 in those two games and has two shorthanded goals thanks to Adam Brooks and Austin Wagner.

Defensive Offense
Of the Pats 21 goals on the season, 5 have come from Sergey Zborovskiy and Connor Hobbs. Zborovskiy has already matched his total goals from all of his 71 games last season with 3. Hobbs meanwhile has set a new career high with 2 goals. Chase Harrison has also pitched in offensively and is riding a three game point streak with 4 helpers in that stretch.
