Cougars trade Mrkonjic to Calgary

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club today announced they have acquired 19-year-old right winger Tyler Mrkonjic from the Prince George Cougars in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

“Tyler has played over 150 games in the Western Hockey League and brings size, character and terrific work ethic along with experience to our lineup,” said Hitmen General Manager and Vice President of Business Operations Mike Moore.  “We look forward to welcoming Tyler to Calgary.”

The Hitmen, 9-10-1-0, open a stretch of five straight games at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday, Nov. 13 against the Kootenay ICE.  Game time is 7:00 p.m. with fans encouraged to be in their seats early for a special pre-game ceremony as the Hitmen and Tommy Gun’s Original Barbershop partner to celebrate the WHL’s 50th Season.
