Giants trade Lee to Edmonton

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants announced on Thursday that the hockey club has traded 1996-born goaltender Payton Lee to the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for a sixth round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

“We think this will be a welcome change for Payton that will allow him to have success,” said Giants Executive Vice President & General Manager Scott Bonner. “We thank him for his services with our club.”

Lee was drafted by the Giants in the second round of the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft and suited up in 140 games over parts of five seasons for Vancouver, posting a record of 52-71-5-4 to go along with a 3.39 goals against average and an 0.885 save percentage.

The Giants will be back in action tomorrow night when they host the Kamloops Blazers on Canadian Armed Forces Night! For tickets, visit TicketLeader.ca or call 604-4-GIANTS (604-444-2687).
