The Lead Up
The Pats held on for a 6-5 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday night at the Brandt Centre. The Pats jumped out to a 6-1 lead halfway through the 2nd period only to see the Hurricanes score 4 unanswered and get within a goal but the Pats held on for their 15th win of the season.  Adam Berg led the way with a goal and 2 assists. Connor Hobbs extended his point streak to 9 games with a goal in the win, he has 6 goals and 4 assists over the stretch.

The Blades were last in action on Friday when they gave up 6 unanswered goals to the Kamloops Blazers and fell 6-2 on home ice. Colin Shirley led the way with 2 goals and an assist for Kamloops while the Blades goals came from Cameron Hebig and Mason McCarty. The loss was the Blades 5th in a row and 9th defeat in their last 10 games.

Offensive Breakout
The Pats Adam Berg had a night at the Brandt Centre on Friday with a career high 3 points against the Hurricanes. The Calgary product is up to 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 points on the season. What’s more impressive is that Berg had just two points after his first 15 games played. In the next 15 he has put up 5 goals and 7 assists for 12 points.

Cooper Finding his Touch
Overage forward Taylor Cooper missed the first month and a half of the season after receiving off-season shoulder surgery. It was slow going at first for the Sherwood Park product but as of late he is finding his old form. In his last 11 games Cooper has 3 goals and 7 assists and is up to 11 points in his 18 games played.

Brooks continues to Lead the Way
Adam Brooks has become a force in the WHL. The former 2nd round pick in 2011 has put up 40 points through his first 31 games of the season. The Pats have played 6 games in the month of December and Brooks has factored into the scoring in all but one of those contests. He has a goal and 7 assists in the month and is on pace to put up 93 points this year.
