Pats - Raiders Game Day Preview


The Regina Pats (16-16-3-2) are playing their 3rd game in 4 days and 2nd in as many nights when they head to Prince Albert tonight to take on the Raiders (21-11-3-1). Tonight is the 3rd of 8 meetings between the two clubs with the Raiders wining the first two in overtime.  Puck drop is at 7:00 with the pre-game at 6:35 on 620 CKRM.

The Lead Up
The Pats snapped their 5 game winless streak on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over the Saskatoon Blades at the Brandt Centre. Tyler Brown made 19 saves while Adam Brooks scored a goal and added 2 assists in the victory. The Pats scored on the powerplay, shorthanded and even strength in the game.

The Raiders dropped a 3-2 overtime decision in Swift Current on Tuesday night to the Broncos. Jesse Lees and Reid Gardiner scored the goals in the loss while Rylan Parenteau stopped 36 of 39 shots faced. Artyom Minulin scored the OT winner for Swift Current.

Brooks Keeps on Rollin
The Pats Adam Brooks extended his point streak to 8 games on Tuesday with a goal and 2 assists. In that span the 19-year-old has 6 goals and 10 assists for 16 points for a total of 53 on the year. Brooks is currently in a tie for 2nd in WHL scoring with the Lethbridge Hurricanes Brayden Burke. Broks has 22 points in the month of December in 12 games played. Austin Wagner also has a point streak going for the Pats, it’s now at 4 games. The Calgary product has 2 goals and 4 assists over that stretch.

It’s Been a Tight Series
The Pats and Raiders have played two very exciting games to start their season series in 2015/16. On October 25th Prince Albert took a 2-1 overtime win at the Brandt Centre thanks to an outstanding performance from goaltender Ian Scott. Then on November 21st in P.A. the Raiders came back and won 4-3 in OT thanks to a winner from Reid Gardiner.
