The Lead Up
The Pats extended their win streak over the Saskatoon Blades to 15 games on Wednesday night with a 5-0 victory. Tyler Brown made 32 saves for his first WHL shutout while leading scorer Adam Brooks scored twice and added an assist in the win.

The Wheat Kings blanked the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday 8-0. Jordan Papirny stopped all 17 shots he faced for his 2nd shutout of the season and 8th of his career. Jayce Hawryluk scored a hattrick and had an assist while John Quenneville had 3 assists.

Penalty Kill Success
The Pats penalty kill has been among the best in the league over the last month of play. In the last 10 games the Pats have killed 42 of 48 short handed situations, that’s 87.5 percent. In total the Pats penalty kill is up to 76 percent. Early in the season the PK was as low as 66.7 percent.

Wagner Returns
Pats forward and L.A. Kings prospect Austin Wagner is back in the lineup tonight after missing the last two games with a lower body injury. Wagner had a great month of November with 5 goals and 11 points in 10 games played. Wagner is up to 19 points in 24 games on the season.

Hobbs Streaking
Pats defenceman Connor Hobbs has put together a really good stretch of offense. The 18-year-old Washing Capitals draft pick is riding a four game point streak with 2 goals and 3 assists and has 7 points in his last 6 games. That stretch has tied him for the defence scoring lead for Regina with Chase Harrison, each have 14 points on the year.

Wheat Kings to World Juniors
Wheat Kings forwards Jayce Hawryluk and John Quenneville are among the 30 players invited to Team Canada’s selection camp for the 2016 World Junior Championship in Helsinki Finland. Hawryluk is a 2nd round pick of the Florida Panthers and Quenneville is a 1st round pick of the New Jersey Devils. It is expected that defenceman Ivan Provorov, the Philadelphia Flyers 1st round pick will suit up for Team Russia at the tournament as well.
