The Lead Up
The Pats fell took a 3-1 lead to the third period on December 19th at home to Moose Jaw only to see the Warriors score twice in the final frame and then win it in OT, 4-3 the final score. Adam Brooks had 3 assists in the loss for the Pats.

The Wheat Kings ended their unofficial first half of the year with a loss in Prince Albert to the Raiders. Jordan Papirny made 31 saves in a losing cause while Tyler Coulter and Reid Duke provided the offence.

Looking to hit the Reset
The Pats are hoping the Christmas break did them some good. The team limped to the break going 1-4-1-2 for 5 of a possible 16 points. The team sits at .500 and 5 points ahead of the Saskatoon Blades who are the closest team outside the current playoff picture, the Blades have 2 games in hand.

Zborovskiy sent Back
Pats defenceman Sergey Zborovskiy was cut from Team Russia of Christmas Day, one day before the club opened the World Junior Tournament in Helsinki Finland. It looked as if Zborovskiy had made the club based on Hockey Russia’s tweets earlier in the week but the team made two surprise cuts. Zborovskiy will play today in Brandon.

Hilsendager Returns
Pats defenceman James Hilsendager should be back in the lineup today in Brandon. Hilsendager missed the last 6 games before the Christmas break with an upper body injury. The Lloydminster product has 2 asissts and 29 PIM’s in 28 games this year.
