The Lead Up
The Pats were last in action on Saturday in Saskatoon where they dropped a 7-3 decision to the Saskatoon Blades. Robbie Holmes scored his second goal in as many games in the WHL while Adam Brooks contributed with 2 assists in the loss. Connor Gay led the Blades with a goal and 3 assists.

The Tigers were last in action on Tuesday at home to the Swift Current Broncos. Both teams scored in the first and the game remained tied 1-1 until less than a minute left in regulation. That’s when Scott Feser scored to give Swift Current the 2-1 lead and eventually the 2 points. The loss was Medicine Hats 3rd in a row.

It’s a Big One
The importance of tonight’s game at the Brandt Centre cannot be overstated. The Tigers enter the day 5 points behind the Pats for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Pats have 22 games left on their season while the Tigers have 20 left to play. The Pats are 2-0-0-0 against the Tigers with wins on October 13th and November 17th. These two clubs will play again February 23rd in Medicine Hat.

Familiar Opponent
Overage forward Cole Sanford will take on his former team, the Medicine Hat Tigers tonight as a member of the Pats for the very first time. The Vernon B.C. product spent three and a half season with the Tigers playing in 230 games and tallying 217 points before being traded to Regina in January. Sanford has 3 goals and an assist in 8 games with thePats so far this year.

McAmmond Returns
The Pats will get forward Jared McAmmond back from his upper-body injury tonight. The 18-year-old missed the last two games after taking a hit along the boards against the Brandon Wheat Kings two weekends ago. The Pats were forced to play a forward short against the Saskatoon Blades in their last two contests. Forwards Adam Berg, Aaron Macklin as well as defencemen Colby Williams and Connor Hobbs will remain out of the lineup.
