The Regina Pats kicked off a mini two game road trip in the Central Division on Tuesday night in Medicine Hat against the Tigers. The Pats took a 3-0-0-0 record against the Tigers into the fourth and final meeting of the year between the two clubs and were looking for the first season sweep since 1997-98. The Pats were coming off a 3-1 win over Edmonton on Sunday and had won 5 straight games and 8 of their last 10. The Tigers meanwhile beat Calgary 3-2 in overtime on Sunday and had won two of their last three but sat 9 points back of Edmonton for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Pats were playing one of their three games in hand on Moose Jaw who sat 7 points ahead for 3rd in the East Division. Here are the lineup's for the game with the starters highlighted.

Pats scratches - Williams, Woods and Schioler.
Tigers scratches - MacPherson, Preziuso and Clouston.

In the first period the Pats got off to another quick start when Austin Wagner stole a puck in his own zone, sped up the right wing and then buried his 23rd short side at 1:21 to make it 1-0. The Tigers really pushed back after that and tied it up at 5:00. Zach Fischer finished off a great centering feed from Brad Forrest for his 1st of the year and it was 1-1. The Tigers kept on coming after that but Tyler Brown stood tall and kept the game tied. Then at 17:24 Rykr Cole took a puck up the left wing, cut to the middle and then beat Mack Shields 5-hole for his 9th, also unassisted to give the Pats the lead back at 2-1. That's how the period ended with the shots on goal 11-11.

In the second the Pats started the frame with two straight powerplays but did not score. The Tigers then got their first man advantage and came sloe when Chad Butcher hit the post but the Pats killed it off. Then on their third powerplay of the frame Regina took the 3-1 lead. Connor Hobbs snapped his 18th into the top corner from the slot at 13:18 from Sam Steel and Cole Sanford. Sanford extends his point streak to 8 games with the assist, 6 goals and 8 assists in that stretch. The Pats continued to press after that, Luc Smith was robbed on a two on oh rush by the glove of Mack Shields who was real good in the frame and the Pats took the 3-1 lead to the break. The Pats outshot Medicine Hat 16-11 in the period and led 27-22 overall.

In the third the Tigers got to within a goal with a powerplay marker at 2:51 when Clayton Kirichenko put home his own rebound and the Pats lead was 3-2. Their powerplay responded at 7:30. Sam Steel buried a rebound for his 20th from Austin Wagner and Adam Brooks and it was 4-2. The assist for Brooks extended his point streak to 11 games with 6 goals and 19 assists in that stretch. The Tigers powerplay got them back within a goal at 15:30 when Brian Williams made an absolutely beautiful move to cut in front and beat Tyler Brown for his 8th and it was 4-3. Late in the contest on another powerplay with the net empty the Tigers tied it up. Matt Bradley scored his 19th at 18:04 and it was 4-4. That forced overtime.
